In partnership with The New York Times, La Retaguardia the Oscars Race

La Retaguardia (The Ones Who Stay), my short documentary co-directed with Olivier Côté, is eligible for consideration in the Documentary Short Film category at the Academy Awards.

Released by The New York Times Op-Docs, the film follows four young artists who have chosen to remain in Cuba amid a historic wave of emigration. It’s a portrait of friendship, creativity and the complicated decision to stay.
