The opening night of Thew New Cubans at Blouin Division was an exciting moment for me. Montreal is my home town and I truly enjoyed seeing the art community (not to mention so many friends) come to support my work. After three years of working in the trenches with my Cuban collaborators, it felt good to bring this body of work into the world.
The event was well-attended and the main Quebec newspaper La Presse covered the series with a 14-page editorial section. Other major publications such as The Guardian (UK) also reported on the project.
